x"KONG: Skull Island"

This is the beginning of a whole new and extensive Warner Brothers franchise. Eye-boggling special effects and loads of action. This is a 1973 set twist wherein the meeting of man and ape is entirely on Kong's turf and explores more in depth where he came from, his position as a god with the local natives and what his reaction is to the invasion of foreigners.

A secret government organization mounts a 'mapping expedition' consisting of diverse team of scientists, soldiers and adventurers to tyravel to the mysterious unchartered Skull Island in the Pacific. Led by an explorer/monster hunter Bill Randa (John Goodman) and a lieutenant colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson), the group recruit a disillusioned soldier of fortune James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston) and an eager beaver photojournalist Mason Weaver (Brie Larson) to investigate the island's topography and peculiar seismic activity.

Once there, they discover what Randa did not tell them - that Skull Island is home to a gigantic 150 foot tall ape called Kong, and find themselves caught up in an ongoing war between the beast and the area's indigenous murderous prehistoric predators, including, but not limited to, giant insects, flesh eating swarms of birds, various giant lizards and more. Cut off from everything they know, the team ventures into the domain of the mighty Kong, igniting the ultimate battle between man and nature. As their mission of discovery becomes one of survival, they must fight to escape a primal Eden in which humanity does not belong. Canthey escape this parfadise turned Hell?

Kong's attitude throughout this film is that of the old man who wants the kids off his lawn --until he sees Mason that is.
