Samsung's sensational new slimline LCD Flat Panel HDTV combines futuristic looks and high performance. Samsung's Patterned Vertical Alignment (PVA) screens provide high contrast and brightness for lifelike almost 3-D images with realistic colors. The sound system is remarkable in that it emulates surround sound with only frontally built in speakers. It comes with a stand, but can be wall-mounted and is very versatile in its' progamability. The store price point is anywhere from $1,000 to $1,300.

We tested the set in various degrees of room and ambient light and found that it delivered a remarkably bright picture even in brightly lit conditions. The set itself is solid - built to last.  Samsung's flat-panel LCDs are extremely competitive in a markpetplace flooded with LCD TV sets.
The connectivity of the set is highlighted by an HDMI input, two component-video inputs, and a PC input. Unlike the component-video inputs on the 4:3 models, the ones in this TV can accept either standard- or high-definition sources. It includes Samsung's Anynet feature, which allows the set to act as a control hub to other Anynet-enabled Samsung gear via the TV's remote. This feature is very handy if you own a lot of Samsung components.

Specifications:
The LNR268W Flat Panel  LCD  is HDTV-Ready. Remember to hook it up with a HDMI cable for full 1000+ lines of HDTV quality. Lesser cables such as the composite video cables the cable TV company gives you will only supply about 730 lines of resolution.

Although the Tv has only one tuner, it features a programable Picture in Picture ( PIP ) feature wherein you can program another input source to show in a small screen while you awatch a main event.

This set features the Parental Control  V-Chip that allows parents to lock out channels they feel are inappropriate for their kids.

The programable Sleep Timer will turn the set off if watching TV until you pass out at 3am is part of your routine.  Of course, the set is Energy Star Compliant.

The LN R268W features everry concievable rear input connector you could wish for. S-Video x 1 • Component x 2 • Composite x 2 • DVI x 1 • Audio (RCA) x 5 • RF x 1 • 1 x D-Sub (RGB PC) • Audio (Mini Jack) x 1 plus one Audio (RCA) connector and one mini headphone jack.  It also has inputs for your computer VGA output so you can play your video games on a BIG screen and use the set as a monitor for video media stored on your hard drive.
